20hrs I’ve played a couple of Lego games and they’re all pretty similar in terms of gameplay. What I really enjoyed about DC Villains was the abundance of characters who got their spotlight, playing or even fighting so many characters that don’t usually get centre stage was great fun (particularly enjoyed scarecrow, clayface and Solomon Grundy) this coming from someone who has much more knowledge of Marvel than DC! The game started with a fun novelty of creating your own character “rookie” who becomes much more of a protagonist than expected with such a large cast! A pretty decent storyline that focuses on the bad guys for once - who were always my favourite part of superhero games! Loved that joker and batman had the same recurring voice actors as the Arkham games, Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy. Favourite scenes were playing as king shark, swimming underwater chasing aquaman from wish and the fight on the moving train. Joker and the thief wolf mother slaps as a joker theme song. TLDR if in doubt, smash some stuff and rebuild what’s glowing.
