3/5 ★ – Fannfell's review of Brink.
A game I loved as a kid that unfortunately does not hold up.
I loved this game as a kid but the rose tinted glasses have been ripped off my face after booting this game up again. This is a classic example of an early 2010s shooter that had a somewhat interesting basic idea but is filled top the brim with repetitive gameplay and weapons that feel the same but look different.
The game is playable and does function in offline mode. it does have some interesting customization and aesthetics. There are so many weird little things about this game like how there are no female characters, and how your character stops shooting when you aim down sights, or how the main menu and multiplayer runs at 60fps while the story mode is capped at 30.
However the game is free on steam so if you played this as a kid and want to re-live it or you want to experience a mid tier 2010s shooter first hand, this is the game for you.
