4/5 ★ – FishToes's review of Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days.

“Who will I have ice cream with?!” An absolutely heart-wrenching ticking time bomb of a game. While yes, having 93 total missions with only about 4-5 different types of missions and only so many keyblade combos makes for a more-than-mundane chore checklist. However, while I don’t think this was intentional, it certainly meshes well with the story of the game. It’s an interlude to a larger story, and with that comes something much more personal and hits harder than anything the rest of the game, or even arguably the rest of the franchise couldn’t achieve. Maybe I’m just weak, but watching these friends hold on as tight as they can to each other only for the inevitable rip is like a punch to the gut. I’m not one to force myself to play a game I think is boring just for the story alone, but I’d argue in this case the story and the way it’s told in this format outweigh any “daily mission” I have to slog through to get there
