3/5 ★ – FoofDeckman's review of Tony Hawk's™ Pro Skater™ 3 + 4.

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3+4 is fine, as someone who hasn't played the originals I can confirm that it is just more Tony Hawk Pro Skater and if you wanted that you'll probably get a kick out of this game, even if I would have preferred a new original title. I know they removed a lot of content from 4, but if you want someone who's going to compare it to the originals you might want to look for a different review, as I'm just going to judge this as it's own game. Pro Skater 3 feels like it picks up exactly where the other two games left off, fun levels with some interesting challenges sprinkled in the mix. It does feel like it's lacking the budget the original 2 remasters had, but it's not entirely noticeable outside of some of the animations and the lack of quality music tracks. Most of these songs and bands I've never heard of in my life and some of the songs show why this is the case. I know that's a subjective thing but I can't help but look back to even the 1+2 remasters and think of how much better the music was in that game. Pro Skater 4 is where you start to see a lot of the flaws, some of these levels feel really empty compared to levels found in 3, I know some of these are original, but none of them really felt the same as the other games. Unfortunately or Fortunately depending on how you look at it, I don't see Pro Skater 5 getting a remaster, I really hope Iron Galaxy or a similar studio that's clearly passionate about this series can take the reigns and make a brand new Pro Skater game, whether it be 6 or something different who's to say. But for this game, I'd recommend it if you enjoyed the other titles, as it's basically just more of that.
