GabeG712's review of Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy.
Unfortunately, I’ve decided I’m dropping Jak and Daxter for the foreseeable future. I really liked the art style, comedy, and platforming the game had. It is unique and campy which I like. Daxter’s funny expressions remind of the Emperor’s New Groove and the same kind of humor and silliness in that film.
I dropped the game because I just stopped having fun midway. It’s not really the game’s fault but rather how I am as a player. Again, I really like the art style, gameplay, and tone of the game. However, having to collecting power cells really through a wrench in there.
I hate collecting a specific number of items to progress in any game. So by the halfway mark I got pretty tired of picking up power cells. I know this is a staple in many platformers but this was the main reason I grew tired of the game. I finished the Lost Precursor City so since I made some progress I might come back!
