5/5 ★ – Gcordeirot's review of NieR: Automata - Game of the YoRHa Edition.

Nier Automata is poetry in form of a game, it's perfect. The OST is easily one of the greatest I've listened to. The art design and all the scenary are beautiful. The gameplay is fast and fluid and very fun to play. It's very satisfatory to kill the enemies in this game. There are different weapons to try to find one that suits you better and there are different types of Pods (the ranged weapon and support to the journey) that shoots lasers, missiles, etc. The chip control is fascinanting, and the HUD elements being part of it makes it even better. You can do a lot of combinations focused on more heath, more attack power or more defense. The changed that happen from 3D action to a more platform 2D, to a top-view combat and to a spaceship fighting game (in 3d and 2d) flows very smoothly and it leaves you amazed in ways I haven't seem in other games. 2B, 9S and A2 are amazing characters and seeing their bonds grows in the story is very well created. The story itself is incredible, it touches filosofic aspects of life and it's very well worked in the context and in the universe of the game. Don't be intimidated by the fact that you have to do 3 playthrough to see the Final Ending, as each gameplay is unique and different on it's own. It's not a "do the same thing over and over again", is more a direct continuation of the story. It should just be labeled part 1, 2 and 3 to be simpler.
