4/5 ★ – Giggling's review of Ms. Pac-Man.

There are many ways to play this game nowadays, they sell the Bandai Namco collection on almost every console, you could easily find this game for free on PC by just typing it up. I personally I grew up with the plug and play version as a kid and really enjoyed the game just fine. And of course the way it was intended to be played the arcade version. There’s something completely satisfying and immersive about seeing a entire machine dedicated to playing a game, especially in the modern era where PC and consoles can hold hundreds of games. I don’t see arcades too often in my neck of the woods, and when I do they’re not retro arcaded exactly, and my plug and play batteries rotted long ago so pac-man was just not something I could ever see myself getting attached to the way I can with home console games. I mean after all why would I spend 10$ on a collection of arcade games I can’t even beat, when there’s so many games still left to play that have more complex controls, more enriching stories, and more variety... when I could pay 400$ for an arcade machine. YESP I BOUGHT THE 1UP ARCADE MACHINE! This is truly the most definitive way to play the game in the modern era. It’s even better then going to a rest stop in the middle of ohio just to play pac-man (cause you never know when your gonna see an arcade Mechine honestly). Even if Mis.Pacman arcade machines where still around honestly the home cabinet 1UP Arcade supplies is still better. It being free to play endlessly in your living room is the best because of the high score system. It encourages everyone who lives in your house to try and best your high score and getting everyone involved is the best thing in the world it is the motivator to play the game indefinitely. I rate games on personal feelings exclusively and me and my boyfriend have been having a great time trying to beat each other’s high score since we got it there hasn’t been a dull moment with the machine since (there were three other games on this machine but Mis. Is the one we play most and it’s the character the machine’s art is based on). Of course the reason we love it is the game play just a good ‘ol button on a stick (mostly just stick) eat all the dots, avoid the ghost till you get the big dot then you get to gobble them up. You know the drill but the reason it’s so good is because of the belief that it could one day be possible to master. There’s a *chance* to avoid and even temporarily kill your enemies, eating and avoiding ghosts seems so simple to play but hard to master and the challenge of beating your friends and families high score. Also the skill based reward the goal is not to beat the levels as fast as you can, but rather eat as much ghost and fruits as possible and keep yourself alive long enough to be able to get the highest score. So overall due to my personal experiences this will always be my favorite game, remember objectivity doesn’t exist we’re all unique individuals in our personal experiences with things color our perspective there’s no reason to deny that special part of yourself because of what consensus deems worthy.
