4/5 ★ – GrayFox_Bez's review of Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas.

A solid, fun if a little janky adventure in the vein of a shorter Zelda game The game is broken up in islands that require discovery (some via story, others via conversation or the finding of particular scrolls/texts It wears its inspiration firmly on its chest, and mostly holds its own in the minute to minute experience. It's a simplified and less complex version of the games that inspired it, and its length is long enough to feel like a journey, but without overstaying its welcome. Visually it's sub par on the Vita, which was fully expected, but it has some great audio including some of the music being composed by the great Nobuo Uematsu I clocked in 100% and the Platinum trophy at 20hrs 5mins, though the in game timer continues when the game is in its item screen so there is probably at least an hour just from that. I would say it could be beaten in around 12hrs if not going for 100%, though there wasn't any egregious challenges to get everything done. Playing on Vita is probably not the best place to experience it, but it's the full game and I just felt like a change. This started out as a mobile game, and later was ported to consoles and PC. The PC version I believe has enhanced visuals and performance, and I would say is probably the definitive way to play. All in all a worthwhile little game that, while showing its age and the era it's from in places, is certainly worth a trip through.
