My favorite Final Fantasy game, the one that encouraged me to try and play every Final Fantasy game I could. The gameplay is nail-biting and punishing, but the most incredibly rewarding combat in all of Final Fantasy. If this weren’t enough, Ivalice’s political landscape is astoundingly rich and detailed, with its narrative perhaps being one of the more compelling in tactical RPG history. You’d be hard-pressed to find another Final Fantasy game with everything you could ever want provided to you, but Tactics is the rare exception (barring one softlock, of course).
