3.5/5 ★ – HapiSingh's review of Yakuza 6: The Song of Life.
Yakuza 6 was a great time, but for me it was very disappointing in a great number of ways, first the good, the graphics are beyond amazing, character animation and cutscenes are more beautiful and visually appealing then ever, and side quests and mini games are incredibly enjoyable as well as the new explorable area Onomichi
However, the combat is incredibly lacking in polish, the story is pretty mid, some of the characters feel really out of character and some relationships were never shown well or represented well.
But the biggest kicker is that, this is the finale of all of Kazuma Kiryu’s Yakuza games, and it is such an undesirable ending that lacks any closure at all, as well as not really following any of the plot points the series has built up for years.
Ultimately, if this wasn’t the very last Yakuza game starring Kiryu, I would have thought it was fine, but as the end of a saga it’s just lacking.
