3.5/5 ★ – Hello_there's review of Lego Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game.

I am not a big fan of Pirates of the Caribbean. I have not watched a single movie, and at this point in time don’t really care enough to do it. However, after beating this game, I am glad to say I got what I expected when I first downloaded it; a fun Lego game. This game just felt like a Lego game, but Pirates to me, and as just that, it was fun. The story was based on the movies, but was easy to understand as someone who never watched them before. The open world / traversal is non existent, due to this being a linear game (and the last one to not have some type of open world). The voice acting were just mumbles (however Johnny Depp did do his “voice lines” in this game) which always adds to the comedy of the game. Speaking of which, I noticed this games comedy was not as good as some of the older ones. There weren’t really many moments that made me laugh. The comedy kinda took a back seat which made the game less enjoyable for me. The gameplay is the same as always, however there is an added addition of sword fighting to the combat. If two characters have a sword and hit each other, a small scuffle would commence which ends with you winning everytime again (however that gets boring so I chose to skip that and just do the jump attacks). Overall, I feel that this is the most barebone Lego game I played, which is crazy because it was the final Lego game before the companies giant shift in how they make these games. 7/10
