1.5/5 ★ – Hello_there's review of Superman Returns.

This game is… not good. Not good at all. Let’s start with the good. This is a tie in to Superman returns (a very underrated movie), and it brings back the actors. Now they are not very good, but it’s nice to have them (except Kevin Spacey). The flying is genuinely great and is really fun to control. I like how detailed and layered it is. Also it includes a lot of comic Superman villains like Mongul, Mxyzptlk, and Bizzaro. It was nice seeing them (despite them not being in the movies). Also I don’t hate the city health bar thing, and I think it works for this game. Now let’s get to the bad. The story is pretty much nonexistent and barely follows the movies plot. Also the mission layout is one of the worst I ever scene. You have to do a whole bunch of random fight missions to progress, and need to raise your level bar to proceed with missions. Not only does this confuse new players because this is never said, it’s also a really boring and repetitive system. Sometimes it takes so long to get to a level. Also if you die or quit the game, you have to restart your level bar all over again. This pisses the player off and made me not want to complete the game a few times. The combat is okay, and is decently layered. But the enemy types are cheep and terrible. One enemy type are the duplicates, and it’s so annoying to beat them because they just regroup. One moment you have 3 enemies to beat, the next you have 12. You can’t hit them because they will duplicate, so the only thing you can do is spam your lasers (which they can dodge). Another annoying enemies are the ones that can grow and do shockwave attacks. When they are growing you can’t hurt them, and they grow A LOT. It’s just annoying and boring. Overall, this is NOT a good game, and the final boss is against a tornado (which lets you know how lazy this game is). It was just a really bad game that I would never recommend. Overall, 3/10
