4/5 ★ – Hello_there's review of Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception.

The underrated Black Sheep of the Uncharted Franchise, is actually pretty good. When I first started my replay of this game, I didn’t think I was going to like it. However the more I played the game, the more I loved it. The story for this game is a little better than the first two, with Nathen and Sully’s relationship being at the center (also no real supernatural stuff which is a nice change). We see returning characters in lesser roles like Chloe and Elena, who are still great. We are also introduced to a greatly fun character, in Cutter. The villains are also better in this game then the first two. Overall the story wasn’t that bad. The music is still amazing, and same with the atmosphere. The gameplay has very much improved as well. The gunplay is still the same formula, with newer weapons too (some are better than others). One of my favorite new additions of the gunplay, is being able to throw Grenades back at enemies. The climbing mechanic is pretty much the exact same as Uncharted 2, which is a good thing. The stealth is a huge downgrade from Uncharted 2, and the enemies are harder to use stealth on. The main improvement however, is in Melee combat. Melee combat is a big focus in this game, and it definitely pays off. We get cool features like being able to dodge attacks, throw enemies, and grab guns midair after knocking someone out. The melee combat was probably my favorite part of the game, and I’m happy they improved upon it. The set pieces started to feel kinda repetitive in the beginning portion of the game (I didn’t like the burning building one), but by the middle they were back to being great. Overall, Uncharted 3 is a very well made and underrated game; I don’t understand the hate it got back then. Overall, 8/10 game
