5/5 ★ – Hikou's review of Super Mario Galaxy.

This game is one of the most beautiful I've ever played, even compared to Super Mario Odyssey, which is a testament to how great the visual style Nintendo chose really is. The soundtrack is easily the best of any 3D Mario and migh as well be the best of the entire franchise (can't say for sure because I haven't played all of the non-3D games) and it being fully orchestrated makes the whole experience feel incredibly grandiose. As for the gameplay, I loved the gravity mechanic they introduced as it makes the levels really pop because of how original they are. Mario's moveset is fairly limited this time around but the level design more than makes up for it. I'd go as far as to say it's almost perfect. Even the more mundane missions (such as catching rabbits) are made fun by how great the level design is. It all feels incredible to play and, really, nothing is this game is boring. I enjoyed my time with every single star (in a total of 120). Making it short, the game has amazing visuals and music, pretty much perfect gameplay and level design and should be played by anyone interested in the Mario franchise or just platformers in general.
