4/5 ★ – HudBud's review of Cyberpunk 2077.
I played on PS5 and I removed a star because of the functionality on the first version of the game.
I absolutely loved the game for its world and stories. The gameplay was fun and invited you to go about situations in different ways. I went as a Nomad with a stealth focus and ended up wanting to stick with that for my character. Above all I just wanted more from the game. More main characters and side-plots would've been much welcomed, but I can wait for more of that.
The tutorial system is non-existent outside of combat. I realized that I could upgrade my weapons only at the very end of the game and that I wasn't allowed to craft high-value items because of skills that I wasn't told I would need. For the story, there were moments that never really appeared. I was told that there would be a title card to tell you when you're about 1/3 of the way through and I never got that.
The crashes were abundant and incredibly annoying. A crash in the middle of the credits for christ's sake? That should just be a video file? Idk, but I found that the transition between driving and first-person would be the biggest catalysts for crashes. I know on the PC version that's when it hits the CPU the worst.
I know that I am lucky to play on the PS5 and that I get a 60fps experience. The last-gen experience being currently unplayable is incredibly disappointing and I am not making my review based on that experience.
