3.5/5 ★ – IamLynsea's review of Overcooked: Special Edition.
This was a fun game at times. But at other times it felt impossible and overwhelmingly stressful. I think if you’re somebody who likes the stress it could be for you. But for me there were so many times where there felt like there was no hope in sight. I really tried to get three stars on every level but By world six I just had to be happy with one star or be content never moving forward.
I like the story it definitely was a game I’d get sucked into for long stretches. The story was just enough to give the game a purpose. I don’t mind the progression in difficulty I just wish it wasn’t so drastic so quick. I would finally feel relief from beating a level and then immediately feel like “Great this is 10 times harder!” I also hated the fact that on the finale you had to listen to the intro every time even if I restarted the level (which I did a lot.) It made that process even longer. Overall it was a solid game and I would certainly recommend it especially to play with friends. (If you don’t mind loosing your mind with your friends.)
