5/5 ★ – Ilory's review of DOOM Eternal.

What.a.game. Doon Eternal is currently, as i write, my favorite fps ever. It’s insane how good this game is. Let’s start with the cons: the game is well balanced, it doesn’t spawn unfair enemies all together, but there was one particular class thar was really annoying every time it came on screen, killing the action-mood and taking wayy too long to kill than other enemies; what makes it even more bad is it was a boss before, and he is sadly not the only boss that is used as a “reskin”. He appears way too often especially in the last few hours of the game; and talking about the last sections of doom eternal, the game gets more and more hard. Generally, this is a good thing, but i think in some final levels the game was unbalanced, with wayy too many enemies(and strong ones) spawned at the same time. Still, this didb’t happen often but the few times it happened it was a little annoying. I also wish the levels were more open and you could do something different than constantly shooting. Pros: The sound design is amazing. While the sound of walking is not perfect, the sound of guns, movements, running, dashing, punching are all *chef’s kiss*. The weapons themselves, combined with the enemies, make for some of the best action gameplay in any game ever. It’s so fun playing this game, punching and repeating. You really feel like a god that is in need to fight against the while world. The technical aspect is also amazing, even more better with the amazing art-style the game has. I also quite liked the progression: like i said, i wish the levels were more open, but exploring the map still felt rewarded, and upgrading the guns really gave you a sense of getting stronger and stronger. I was also surprised by how interesting the lore was. It’s not my favorite, but i was quite intrigued by the backstories of each level or even of the enemies you encounter in the game. Finally, while the game doesn’t excel for its bosses, the final 2 were amazing, some of my favorite in my all time gaming playtime. This said, it’s quite clear that ican’t wait for Doom The Dark Ages, and it’s instaly going into my top 5 most anticipated games
