4.5/5 ★ – Imzzzy's review of Horizon Forbidden West.

A sequel to one of my favourite games that steps itself up in every way -- i'm so happy that a top tier game can up itself even more. It felt next gen, it most definitely looked next gen aswell. The world is rich, beautiful and looks fantastic inside out. The textures, the different types of lands, whether it be sands, grass or even sea, all look amazing. Theres plenty of machines wondering around, loads of treasure to be discovered, tons of places to dive under and multiple mountains & buildings to hike up, not to mention the intricate cauldrons to voyage through and tallnecks to override. Its a treat to the eye no matter the time of day. The story in this got even more interesting, something that is sadly optional but utmost important, is to listen to the dialogue because it adds so much to the rich lore, story, characters and overall narrative. I absolutely adore the story even more now and am even more invested into a game where I appreciated the gameplay first. Here the gameplay feels even more solid, upgraded, but not changed. Smooth, hard hitting and impactful. Theres plenty to explore and do, although i'd have loved even more side quests to do. The machines are really well designed and each feel distinctively unique. The fights are challenging enough and i really strongly recommend on playing on no easier than Hard. Took me all in all around 30hours and completed all the side quests (+ errands) for reference. I quite simply have no faults with this game. Incredible way to start off the year. - 4.5/5.
