4/5 ★ – IronPackfan's review of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

This game is tough. The boss fights aren’t really forgiving. Like at all. Some are much easier than others, but some are brutal to get through. And there’s no checkpoints in the often four phases of the fight, so if you die, you start over. The rendering quality of the game as of now is not great. I’m on PS5 performance mode, and I’m still struggling to get 40-45 FPS. Definitely not 60 and the graphics don’t always render in quickly. However, I still really enjoyed this. The story is great and as it picks up I became more and more invested. It’s cool seeing the characters from the first game again, but at the same time I feel like the time jump skips over a lot that happened between the games. So much has changed and it’s not entirely clear why. There’s a novel tie in that’s out that I haven’t read, but like that shouldn’t be required to understand this game. There’s some pretty great stuff included in here, some cool new lightsaber stances, and really fun combat mechanics. Hopeful for the future of Star Wars games and the story of Cal Kestis. Would love to see him in live action at some point, but if he stays in the games, that’s fine too. Here’s hoping for a trilogy!
