2/5 ★ – Isaac_Ashley's review of Beast Quest.
I really wanted to like Beast Quest. The concept had so much potential—an action-adventure game based on a beloved book series, filled with epic battles against giant beasts? That should have been amazing. But unfortunately, the execution just isn’t there.
Right from the start, everything feels a bit clunky. The combat, movement, and overall gameplay just don’t flow as smoothly as they should. Fighting the beasts, which should be the highlight of the game, feels repetitive and stiff. There’s little strategy involved, and after a while, it just becomes a chore rather than an exciting challenge.
The world itself is another letdown. There’s nothing particularly wrong with it, but it doesn’t feel unique or immersive. It’s a generic fantasy setting with little personality, and exploring it never feels rewarding. Compared to other adventure games, there’s just not much to make it stand out.
That’s the biggest issue—Beast Quest doesn’t feel like anything new. It takes ideas from better games but doesn’t do anything interesting with them. The story is forgettable, the mechanics feel dated, and it lacks the spark that could have made it something special.
It’s not unplayable, and I can see how younger players or big fans of the books might enjoy it. But for anyone looking for a truly engaging action-adventure experience, there are far better options out there
