4/5 ★ – Isaac_Ashley's review of No Man's Sky.
When I first set foot on an alien planet in No Man’s Sky, I knew I was in for something special. There’s nothing quite like that feeling of stepping out of your ship, looking up at an alien sky, and realizing that an entire universe is waiting to be explored. Even after hours of playing, that sense of wonder never really goes away.
The atmosphere is easily one of the best parts of the game. Every planet feels unique, with its own landscapes, weather, and bizarre creatures. Some are peaceful paradises, while others are harsh and unforgiving, but all of them feel like part of something huge. Whether I’m flying through the rings of a gas giant, wandering through bioluminescent caves, or watching the sun rise over a barren wasteland, the sheer scale of No Man’s Sky is breathtaking.
The open-world freedom is another reason I keep coming back. There’s no set path—you can explore, build bases, trade, fight pirates, or just chill and soak in the scenery. It’s a game that truly lets you play at your own pace. And with all the updates over the years, there’s always something new to discover, from deep-sea exploration to massive space stations.
That said, the game isn’t perfect. Some mechanics still feel a bit repetitive, and the survival elements can sometimes get in the way of just enjoying the journey. The UI can be clunky at times, and while the game has improved massively since launch, there are still moments where it feels a little grindy.
But even with those minor flaws, No Man’s Sky is an experience like no other. If you love open-world exploration, sci-fi adventure, and the feeling of truly getting lost in a universe, it’s absolutely worth playing. It’s a game that has only gotten better over time, and I can’t wait to see where it goes next.
