4/5 ★ – ItsATM's review of Pokémon Card GB2: Here comes Team GR!.

The year is 1998, and it's Christmas morning. I had no idea what to expect as a 6 year old but to my surprise, the very first Pokemon TCG had just released and was wrapped under the tree. This game would go on to become one of my most fond memories of the Game Boy Color. A couple decades later, I learned that it actually had a direct sequel only released in Japan. The Invasion of Team GR carries over everything that makes the first game great while also adding improved story, new deck synergies, and an extra 200+ cards. I wish this one would have gotten localized, but I'm grateful that it received a full english fan-translation recently! This game still holds up to this day, and in my opinion is a very impressive RPG for the Game Boy Color. There are a lot of little additions to the sequel that can be appreciated, such as: the option between male or female character, multiple expansions added, a ton of new locations, and a more structured plot. Definitely recommended, especially given that it can be finished in 10-15 hours and offers the same quality experience as the first game.
