2.5/5 ★ – JayTheCh1cken's review of Resident Evil 6.

Where to start with this game... There definitely IS some fun to be had with this game, but oh boy does it take a lot to get to it. Leon's campaign I would say is probably my least favorite. The zombies and their offshoots are all so boring and for a lot of it Leon is just stumbling around with no real goal in mind. The set pieces like the crashing plane and the chaos in the streets and the giant underwater monster and the monster chasing you throughout the market in China are all probably at their best and most memorable here, but its not enough when the connective tissue of it is just the same boring zombie running all throughout it. I DO like the weird long fight with Simmons at the end flawed as it may be, but again its mostly just running from zombies in different locations. Chris' campaign is definitely the best. It's the most like Re5, and I'm here for that. You get strong guns, and the characters are likeable, and its an all around good time. The fights kinda do start to wear on you as you get further and further, but gunning down a ton of Javo never really gets boring. The final chapter is the worst of it, but it doesn't hurt the rest of the campaign too much. Jake's campaign is just kinda eh, it's got the same highs as Chris' but its also got some really boring segments like when you first end up in China or bad segments like the motorcycle chase or when you're running from the Ustengav for the 9 millionth time. Jake and Sherry's dynamic together can be fun, but that's not enough to make me like their campaign. Ada's is probably the most concentrated bad in the game, but it's merciful and doesn't last very long. For the first two chapters you're doing the worst puzzles in the game while constantly fighting hordes of zombies and Javo and it's awful, but then after those two chapters it gets better. The next three chapters are all half the length of the rest of the game's chapters, and you're mostly just running around helping the other protagonists which is a lot more fun than it should be honestly. The "fight" with Carla was super disappointing, but after that you're flying a helicopter which is super silly yet still kind of fun, so its fine. It ends with the same recycled Simmons fight again which is just lame but I can't complain since it could've been much worse. Anyway, this game is just all over the place. It'll be really funny to see if this game gets a remake or not, but until then, if I ever decide to play this game again it'll be Chris' campaign and his only.
