4.5/5 ★ – JayTheCh1cken's review of Sonic Rush Adventure.

I've heard horror stories about the grind of this game, so boy was I surprised when I ended up quickly liking it BETTER than the original Rush. All the awful level design choices from the first game have been fixed - no more constant bottomless pits, level gimmicks are much less intrusive, levels are no longer than 2 minutes usually, and the bosses themselves no longer take ages to open themselves to counter attack. Blaze is always great to see around in these games too, and her and Sonic no longer having separated campaigns means that I can pick between playing as the two on a level by level basis. I found Blaze is great for doing levels the first time you play them, as her floaty tricks and slower running speed make it easier to platform around. Sonic isn't useless though, and he's great for when you return to stages to get through them quicker, which you have to do with how the game expects you to get materials to build all the vehicles. Traveling the ocean on all the vehicles and discovering the islands is fun for a bit, but I would be lying if I said the minigames didn't get boring after a bit. Above all though, the adventure aspect of this game is the most fun part of it to me, with the stakes just being lower and more relaxing. Seeing the Sol dimension for the first time (and perhaps the ONLY time) is just a joy.
