3.5/5 ★ – JetDusk's review of Castlevania: Circle of the Moon.

This is a great game, but there are plenty of better options just in the Castlevania series. The DSS System is fun, but later in the game it gets annoying to have to look through and check every combination, as well as how rarely the cards will even drop from enemies. My other biggest complaint would be the design of the castle. There were many points I had to waste time going up unnecessarily long and repetitive corridors just to check where to go. I unlocked the final boss before finding the last 2 items that help with castle progression, after I had already cleared the dungeon that constantly damages you without getting one of said items! Also, special mention goes to the final boss for being annoying. I just didn’t have a good DSS card to hit him effectively, so it took FOREVER. Again, good game, just has some problems that hold it back from greatness.
