I had a lot of fun going through the collection to experience some of the best in the Genesis library, and while I did find quite a few gems, sadly some of these didn’t meet my preference. For the most part I would recommend this collection, and if you don’t pick it up, here are some series I would highly recommend. (Note: I at least tried every game EXCEPT for future entries in RPG series. I will go over those at some point in the future, but I do have a review written for pretty much every game in the catalogue, so you can look those up for more detail. Just know there’s a reason if you can’t find a Shining Force 2 review, as I don’t really have time for the first at the moment.) Alien Soldier: Really fast paced control scheme, reminded me of Megaman X in a lot of ways. Alien Storm: Pretty fun as Sci Fi Beat-em-up. Altered Beast: Divisive, but I lean towards the side that like it. It’s a classic arcade side scroller sort of thing. Beyond Oasis: A really interesting top down action game. You could consider Zelda for the Genesis. Bio-Hazard Battle: A super fun space shooter where you fight a bunch of awesome looking insect aliens. I highly recommend it. Dr. Robotniks Mean Bean Machine: It’s just Puyo Puyo, but Puyo Puyo is really fun. Golden Axe Series: Mostly all good beat-em-ups, but they can feel cheap at parts. Light Crusader: Very Interesting Isometric Dungeon Crawling. Ristar: A fun platformer with good music. Shadow Dancer and Shinobi 3: Really challenging Jinja Sidescrollers. Shining Force: Fire Emblem on the Genesis. Sonic 2: Good Music, Amazing Sprites, fast gameplay. Streets of Rage Series: Challenging but good Beat-em-ups, 3 is a bit cheap but still my favorite for control options. Wonder Boy in Monster World: a cute little platformer. Special Mentions as I don’t have much to say, but they could interest you: Decap Attack Dynamite Headdy Gain Ground Gunstar Heroes Shining in the Darkness Space Harrier 2 Vectorman Series Virtua Fighter 2 Wonder Boy 3
