JimboHarman's review of Alan Wake Remastered.

It’s fun and edgy, some quite clever stuff in here, also some quite silly stuff. I thought that the ending left things a little bit open, I sort of get what happened but I could’ve done with a little bit more of a wrap up. It’s a little bit of a “that’s it?” moment for me. So much build up of characters, and their backstories, this dark presence that has haunted this town for decades, and Alan sort of just wins by clicking a button. The gameplay holds up quite well, and I was surprised at how fun some of the set pieces are, the concert stage was absolutely banging, and I love all the possessed construction vehicles. Alan is a very frowney fellow and I think the voice actor could do with an acting lesson or two. He’s a bit flat. Barry was funny, and I became genuinely quite endeared to him because of how ride or die he is. The dude would follow Alan to hell and back. I think maybe my issues with the ending stem from the lack of Barry come to think of it. Where was he?
