5/5 ★ – Jimothy_Wake's review of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.

Boy oh boy where do I begin? This game gives me so much unbridled joy! After finishing Drake's Deception and ready for the next installment, I was ready for a killer end to the Nathan Drake story and boy did we get one. The short review would be saying that it felt like Uncharted 2 with a The Last of Us quality narrative (and for good reason). From the moment you pick this game up you know you're in good hands. It immediately throws you into the story, prepping you for the big plot that's about to unfold in a way unlike its predecessors, but without compromising the story you've experienced thus far. The graphics are just beautiful and really get their opportunities to shine as the game takes you through a classic range of exotic locations and situations that make the adventure genre so attractive. Obviously there is a big factor in this game that appeals to me so heavily, and naturally that would be the pirate theme and treasure that they're hunting. Bringing out to the Caribbean, this game doesn't cop out on the history or storytelling that builds to the treasure, really giving you the chance to play through the experience of hunting this lost treasure and solving the clues left behind. And damn that soundtrack - corr damn. Finally, yes, so much yes for that Nate/Elena story. Without rehashing the same classic sequel trope of utilising the relationship from the start of the story mid-drama, Nate's choices bring their marriage into the middle of it and competently keeps them on their toes. Overall, I absolutely cannot recommend this game enough. Must play.
