2/5 ★ – JoeyDoesStuff's review of Five Nights at Freddy's AR: Special Delivery.
Well this is the first negative review I have on this account haha
I'm probably harsh with this game, Hell even my friends hates it so much that they make memes out of illumix for being lazy
I never tried playing this game before, So please take this review as a 1 week experience from FNAF AR, Who knows maybe one year later I will review it again with more opinions on it
So the premise of this game is that you try to capture the fnaf animatronics around your house because they come to you to have a "Special delivery" You only have a flashlight with the worst battery life ever and a zapper that you can use to shock the animatronics, The only way to know where they come is to look around your room and look for something that glitches out, once you focus on the glitch as it gets more and more glitchy, They come towards you. Sometimes they disappear just to have a fake out moment and they even show up behind you for a split second just to fuck with you
If you played it for the first time It's seems to be interesting and intense but the more you play the more predictable it gets, Now to be fair it gets kinda hard once you encounter more new animatronics and it seems they kinda play out differently but it's still kinda the same and there's not a lot of progress aside of collecting rewards
There's also power ups you get just to make them easier for you and oh man these power ups are always useful but you only can change them once you prepare to defeat an animatronics, The issue however is that If wait like 5 seconds to try to change one power up, The fucking game gets you to the game immediately, Hey asshole! I didn't finish yet!
Aside of that mode, There's the remnant playthroughs which you get randomly when you found a remnant on a map, the objective is that you need to collect as many as remnants you can get, You only need to collect remnants that are bright and not try to collect the dark remnants, Collect it too much will summon shadow bonnie or RXQ, All you have to do is look around and flash him and that's all you do, It's just not interesting and it gets repetitive
Also I don't get wtf is a remnant, All you do is install them into the animatronics and.... that's it! I'm probably missing something but I really don't understand the point of the remnant
Every 24 hours you get to do a task, but why is it 24 hours? Like the only way to get the animatronics to your warehouse is just waiting until they tell you to capture that animatronic which is so... boring
But let me tell you, once you get the animatronics on the workshop it's really nice, The animation is so cool and it's really accurate to the characters, Couple that with the sound effect and you have something that is really charming
Now of course there's the skins, Now I never got any of the skins yet but from what I have seen Most of them looks super cool and interesting, Idk what is my favorite cause there's a lot of it but I think Ice aimatronics? Not sure
There's skins that celebrities some holidays like 4th of July, Christmas, Halloween, St. Patrick day, Etc...
Most of them are really creative but then sometimes they go lazy with illumix say "Hey let's turn plushtrap into a piranha!" And there's skins that are just.... What? I kid you not There's an Actually Toy Bonnie skin that is made out of shit, He's shit toy bonnie and it looks ugly (Tho you know what? It fits with his character)
Doesn't help that Illumix announces there skins sometimes in a lazy way, Like on Twitter they showed Curse Springtrap and omg you can tell that it's T-posed cause they cropped the Image
It actually shows that Illumix didn't do a lot of stuff for a while (As I'm writing this review, They reveal some new teasers on a charity livestream so that's probably... Something?) Since Early 2020 everything kinda went down which explains it when you realize that the CEO of illumix doesn't like video games... Even though there a game company.... ok
And of course This game has microtransactions, Now I'm not too pissed off when they put these in games as long as it's not annoyingly shit and most of the rewards you see on the store are only with faz coins which you get from rewards but... Idk, Microtransactions in a fnaf game fells... off (Yes I know the first game used to have microtransactions on mobile but it cost really cheap)
Also there's some weird technical difficulties in this game, now my phone isn't that powerful so I excused the frame rate being not too smooth but there's some strange issues in there, When you to the "you win" part, It supposed to show something after that but not it doesn't show it, There was one moment when I get one of the rewards It literally shows "Title text" instead of the name of the item, And also from what I have heard It keeps crashing on some of the iphone versions so that's... neat...
And finally there's the score which is really nice, Not sure if leon riskrin composed this but it's still nice
Man that was a lot! Now I'm probably didn't cover everything so take that As my opinion for playing it for a week, If there's something I got wrong, I will edit the review
Overall: Do better please
