4.5/5 ★ – JustTru's review of Persona 5.

When I first got this game I didn't realize how long it was. It sat on my shelf for a long time because I was scared to try and get into it. Now that I have finished I am so sad there wasn't more to it! The pacing is phenomenal, there is not a single part of the game that feels overly long or just serves as filler. Some areas were certainly more fun than others, but the social life aspects remain consistent. It is surprising how you don't feel like you have enough time to do everything you want. I am a sucker for teen narratives and this game takes its story seriously. It could seem a bit silly from the outside but I was invested. The characters are all so unique and their dynamics with each other make them feel real. I miss it already. There are many twists and turns in the plot that make my heart ache and jaw drop. This isn't even counting the side confidant storylines, and I wish that I could have seen them all. I maxed out Sojiro and Yoshida and honestly, those storylines are phenomenal. I am mainly into a game because of its narrative, but the gameplay here is awesome as well. I don't typically play with turn-based combat, but if all of it is as fun and engaging as this I should. I was certainly struggling through the first third of the game because I didn't really know how to maximize the use of all the abilities, but it was a ton of fun learning and thrilling when I finally figured out how to play well. The graphic design is so stylish as well and the music is wonderful. It is constantly fresh and I have not played a game that feels quite as unique as this. I love it truly.
