2.5/5 ★ – Jv1i3n's review of Dead Space 3.

Finished February 25, 2025 ’m disappointed, but the game isn’t as bad as I expected. Even though it may not be as good as the first two despite the second being the best of the trilogy, I still enjoyed Dead Space 3. Firstly I want to talk about the story. “Dead Space” as the title states we’re supposed to be in space… yeah we are for the introduction & also for about 45-50% of the game, but there’s actually a big turn to the Dead Space title. “Tau Volantis” a planet Isaac and the crew crash land to discover the origins of the growing threat from their enemies, the Necromorphs. I appreciate the game taking a new turn and discovering new parts of the Dead Space world, and it makes total sense why they’d go for this approach. The co-op addition, it already seemed fun until I found out I would be locked out of certain content, if I played just as Isaac Clarke. As I finished playing the main story I headed straight to multiplayer & noticed a drastic difference & change in the story. The weapons, & combat is actually really satisfying, endless possibilities of loadouts. Favorite part about the story is how Ellie returns and Austin Buckell and Jennifer Santos which were part of Ellie's team were so friendly with Isaac and were good role models along with Ellie being friendly with Isaac. John Carver is an interesting side character as well as being a sergeant that lost his wife and son by Danik and his men, Robert Norton, on the other hand, was a rather unlikeable character because even though he was allied at the start he was a jerk later on towards Isaac but thankfully Isaac killed Norton later on, and finally, we have Jacob Arthur Danik the main antagonist of the game who is probably the best overall Dead Space villian to date since he leads a Unitology Militia of armed fanatics.
