3.5/5 ★ – Jv1i3n's review of Marvel Rivals.

After compiling up to 311.6 hours of playtime of this game on steam I can say it’s pretty damn good. There’s some very good and very bad parts of it, but that comes with every game for the most part. The start of the season for Marvel Rivals was strong, there was a ton of people excited to see what this game was all about and me of course. Since it’s a hero based shooter/melee like overwatch, but with a Marvel twist. I’ve played this game up to recently when they added Emma Frost and Ultron. & I gotta say, I really wish we would get frequent updates and patches for the game instead of waiting almost the full season for another word on updates. Currently this games comp changes overtime, but it doesn’t change efficiently. It’s just the same old boring games of repetitive bans. Dive is pretty much nerfed ever since the huge buffs from Peni and the release of Ultron. (which he isn’t even a good strategist). His flying carries his whole kit. I like the switch up in comp in video games a lot, but make it where every single archtype of character is enjoyable. Because currently all I am seeing for DPS is Punisher, Scarlet, Hawkeye, & Storm. Dive is pretty much useless because of how badly they’ve been nerfed, but Spider-Man is still the best Dive you could ever go for. There’s cc from almost every strategist, on top of that Peni mines if the dive gets anywhere in the vicinity of where the strategist is. As well as Emma’s slam. I like the fact that healers are actually being used now, because in the start of the season they were NOT. Everyone want DPS these days only. With that being said this current state of MR is honestly tiring and inconsistent, all Netease cares about is the absurd amount micro transactions. There’s legit skins almost every week. Hopefully they can shape up in the near future, because this season isn’t in my favorite.
