4.5/5 ★ – Jv1i3n's review of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.

49.8 hours (I need to start posting how many hours I’ve played my games until I have beaten it). First off if you’re not playing on Dark mode difficulty you’re not getting the full ‘The Witcher’ experience. I stand before you to extol the virtues of a truly remarkable game, a masterful work that demands our admiration. One cannot deny the sheer brilliance that permeates every aspect of this creation. The narrative is profoundly engaging, the characters are intricately developed, and the environments are crafted with such meticulous charm and artistry that one is transported to a realm of unparalleled wonder. The soundtrack, I must assert, surpasses even that of its successor, enveloping the player in a musical tapestry of sublime beauty. Yet, despite these myriad strengths, the game is, alas, rather brief. One finds oneself yearning for more, particularly when measured against the expansive length of the third installment in the Witcher series. Furthermore, I must confess to a palpable sense of disappointment regarding the main antagonist. Without divulging any spoilers, suffice it to say that the villain's motivations are, to put it mildly, uninspired and lacking in depth. Regrettably, the game is also marred by a suboptimal lighting and color scheme. This necessitates considerable adjustment to attain a visually acceptable aesthetic that does not resemble a garish confectionery display. Additionally, the inventory system leaves much to be desired, demanding frequent and tiresome management of one's carried items. In summation, we find ourselves in the presence of a game of great merit, though not without its imperfections. It stands as a testament to artistic ambition and creative endeavor, a work that, despite its flaws, commands our respect and appreciation.
