3.5/5 ★ – KBoom17's review of Sonic Heroes.

Really fun time for the most part, but this is definitely a game you learn to love. The game has a lot of unique gameplay mechanics that really help the game stand out in comparison to other 3D Platformers. Story is very simple, but not a bad one imo. The Voice Acting can be pretty cheesy but I feel it adds to the overall charm of the game. In terms of general complaints, the game suffers from a lot of jank and has led to more of my deaths than ones that were actually my fault. In fact, the entire game feels rushed, which would be the case if you look further into the behind tbe scenes of this game. The other big one I have is that I really don’t like the majority of the Team Chaotix’s levels. Their unique levels are straight up not fun and feel more like busy work and padding than anything that was well thought out. I also think getting to the Special Stages are unfair, and are only saved because Team Rose’s levels are all incredibly easy and the Special Stages themselves are incredibly easy to exploit. Overall this game could be an easy 8/10 in my boom if they fixed the jank and made the Team Chaotix levels less tedious. Really recommend this game to any Sonic fans who want a change up from the more current Boost-Styled games or for anyone who wants to experience one of the 6th Generation’s most unique 3D Platformers.
