2.5/5 ★ – KENJA's review of Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny.
Disgaea 6 the game we waited for a year but it ended on a disappointment instead of having blast on the game. I'll talk about what i like and didn't like:
+ Story and characters were a huge part of the content that made me enjoy the party from their interaction, writing and characters development
+ Auto AI customize was a good way to lvl up your characters while you are away nailing me tons of experience points
+ The ost in the game was very good but it can be repetitive in certain stages
- the 3D wasn't perfect, its feels that the animations with 3D weren't impactful as the old disgaea series. The 2D sprites were much better in showing the moves and supers and was much satisfying to see.
- performance on switch was as following:
1. Performance mode: it was good but the quality drop was huge and it crashed once
2. Balance mode: same as quality mode hich puts the game below 30 fps and didn't make a huge difference when switching between them
- after story content was boring why them of all the characters also the other stuff like research and other world weren't that useful to me since i always use auto mode in grinding which gave me much advantage for getting better stuff in shop
In conclusion, if you wanna play the game i would highly recommend playing it on console instead on switch and wait for sale instead of buying it full price. I hope the next disgaea will bring back the sprite ver. Instead of heading for 3D
