4/5 ★ – Kalle_Deimos's review of Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

TLDR: It prints money! Just another instance of Nintendo continually honing their product until they hit the jack-pot. There's a lot of people (maybe not that many) who dislike this entry in favor of New Leaf. Which is fair but I think I still prefer this one. Gameplay: Just living your life on a cute little island. As a life sim, the amount of stuff you can do is immense along with how long these activities can occupy you. Fishing, bug catching and forming friendships with your villagers is a mainstay but now there's a whole crafting system that fleshes out your options immensely. This is without a doubt the most free AC out right now and it shows. Every player forms a unique bond with their island and you can see it through how they express themselves through it. It's such an easily accessible title for everybody playing with so many options and quality of life improvements, it's hard not to recommend it to all types of players. Story: No real story to mention. It's all up to you on what you want to do. I guess I can use this section to bring up a small gripe I've had with the game from the start. And that's how it's unrelentingly positive. The previous games had some funny stuff with your villagers kind of being mean to you or straight up acting aggressive towards you and it's always really funny. I think they wanted it to be more family friendly but I think I would've enjoyed the change of pace of the occasional scumbag once and a while. Graphics: Extremely pleasant to look at in terms of both actual visuals and art direction. Very soft visuals that are pleasing to look at. From the big sweeping views of your island to the tiny little bugs you can pick up. I think one of the best things AC does visually is show the texture of objects and things, even the villagers who have great looking models despite simple designs. Audio: I sort of prefer the soundtracks of the previous games. I felt as if they were a smidge more diverse and memorable. At least when referring to the typical outdoor themes you'll be hearing a lot of. But I will admit, all of the K.K. Songs slap extremely hard. Extra: Everything in this game is extra content. You barely have to do any of it. But you should. My favorite part is the museum. Favorite Thing: I'm the MASTER ANGLER babie. I'm fishing from SUN UP TIL SUN DOWN. Not My Favorite Thing: Damn, connecting to anybody's island is kind of a pain.
