3/5 ★ – Kalle_Deimos's review of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle: Donkey Kong Adventure.

TLDR: The Mario + Rabbids DLC is pretty good but I did not enjoy it as much as the main game. Gameplay: I really liked the variety of the base game, being able to change out the party to see what works and try out some different builds. In DKA you only get 3 characters, and even though the characters are pretty interesting I don't find it as appealing anymore. Donkey Kong is plenty of fun to use, Rabbid Peach is...the same, and Im not a big fan of Rabbid Cranky. The gameplay mainly involves DK being the main crux of your plans and the other two are decent supports. But I actually thought that the gameplay was a bit too easy honestly. Enemies do so little damage to you that I was frequently tanking most hits and it was an important part of my strategy even. I had to wait until I was fully maxed out to do that before. Instead they put all the difficulty into the overworld puzzles and holy shit some of these are ridiculous. Overall, it's fun. But I would not recommend this unless you really liked the base game and couldn't afford the sequel. Story: So it's an alternate dimension? I don't know. I'm not gonna get bent out of shape over the Mario + Rabbids plot. Graphics: On par with the base game. Not much to say honestly. Sound: Classic Donkey Kong tunes remixed to a new Rabbids type tune. Pretty good. Extra: There's collectibles and challenges. Many of which I was not very interested in doing unfortunately. Favorite Thing: I genuinly enjoy how Donkey Kong plays. I love throwing enemies into other enemies and throwing a big banana. Not My Favorite Thing: Lack of variety overall. It couldve used another character possibly.
