3.5/5 ★ – Kalle_Deimos's review of Mega Man 11.

TLDR: I suppose this installment is supposed to be a 'modern' Mega Man and its really good for what it is. But it isn't that much. Gameplay: Standard Mega Man experience with one big addition. The Double Gear system is a lot of fun, and it's the only real point of interest that sets this game apart from the other 10 games. The Power Gear doesn't really seem very useful compared to the Speed Gear but it's nice to have a choice. Robot Master abilities are alright but I feel like I didn't really use them much outside the Robot Master fights. Level design is really good though, and the difficulty feels spot on minus some weird spots. Story: There's like. Cutscenes and shit. They're enough. Wily wants to conquer the world. Yeah. Graphics: Best part of this game is probably the visuals. It looks really good. The graphics, art design and animation are all fantastic and seem to have a lot of care put into it. I was anticipating something to look janky but I never found it. Sound: Music and sound effects are pretty good. There's also voice acting which is fine. But I've always accepted that Mega Man would be voiced by a woman because he's supposed to be a kid. But it's not terrible. Just a bit jarring. Extra: There's a ton of extra items to buy to make your playthrough easier, and it snowballs really fast so get those upgrades. Favorite Thing: The visuals are my favorite thing here. I think Capcom clearly put their best foot forward in this aspect. Not My Favorite Thing: Lack of innovation. The Double Gear system innovates the gameplay and I wish they innovated more elsewhere.
