2.5/5 ★ – Kalle_Deimos's review of Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath.

TLDR: They took all the weakest parts of the new MK Trilogy and they made it into it's own mediocre and frustrating story. They're lucky the characters are fun or else I'd tell everyone to pass on this. Gameplay: Same as MK11. The new characters are so much fun. My favorites being Shang Tsung and The Terminator. They feel like unique fighters that deserve to be in the game and had a lot of love behind them from the developers. Story: It's confusing, doesn't make much sense, is more about the 'big evil' rather than the characters dealing with it. The ending of MK 11 had a nice little bow on it, it felt like all the characters had development and were utilized. This entire expansion is like pulling that out from under the rug and replacing it with 3 hours of excuses for people to fight and big bland battles that mean nothing. And the thing that pissed me off the most (SPOILER ALERT) Sindel is retconned to have been evil the entire time. They took a villainous character with an interesting origin and a great excuse to explore a different side to them, and just tossed it out the window. Did she need to be a villain? Wasn't there anyone else? All you did was go "This villain used to be nice, JUST KIDDING, THE VILLAIN WAS A VILLAIN THE WHOLE TIME YOU FUCKING IDIOT". Just keep her out of the story at that point. Graphics / Audio / Extra: Same as MK11 Favorite Thing: The Terminator Not Favorite Thing: Sindel's Inclusion in the story.
