4/5 ★ – Kalle_Deimos's review of Nuclear Throne.

TLDR: One of my BIG THREE ROGUELIKES. It doesn't have much content and it's not very deep. But it's fast as shit and addictive. So I can recommend it to almost anyone. GAMEPLAY: Shoot your way through the wasteland and DON'T DIE. The big difference between this and my other favorite rogue-likes is that it relies on level-ups, not items. So the main gameplay loop is to kill and pick your level ups carefully. Each character is unique so finding a build that works for your character is key. Or you can go apeshit and pick random and have a weird as fuck build. Whatever works. Nuclear Throne is also borderline a bullet hell at points, with the screen full of absolute carnage that kills you insanely fast. Enemies die fast but so do you. Everything about this game is about speed, making it easy to jump in and keep running over and over again. Story: Not very important. A pack of mutants trying to reach the Nuclear Throne. You can find extra bits of story in loading screens and the wiki. Fun Fact: Every time you complete a level and enter a portal, you're entering a completely different universe. Graphics: The lore of this game is brutal, but you'd never know that due to how cute everything is. I personally like how they have no arms. Audio: Tracks are good and varied, but can get a bit repetitive with consecutive runs. Favorite Thing: Yung Venuz BRAPPP Not Favorite Thing: A run ended by some bullshit.
