4.5/5 ★ – Kalle_Deimos's review of Rhythm Heaven Fever.
TLDR:
Why is this game so difficult
Gameplay:
Fever is the best rhythm heaven game, it has the best games, some of the best music and no annoying gimmick. Fever has also a couple of the worst games I've played such as Donk Donk and Love Rap. Love Rap is hilariously bad, I can't perfect it because I'm too busy laughing at the vocal cues. That's a big thing in Fever, real voices doing vocal cues. The game is full of the funniest, catchiest lines that you will be repeating with your friends. And also the most annoying cues that will make you rage-quit the tutorial because you just need a MOMENT to breathe. But the actually gameplay? Awesome. Distractions are a big new thing in this game and they are BRUTAL. And I thought lockstep was hard. Boy I knew NOTHING. I am unable to do Air Rally properly because the distractions fuck me up so hard, even though I am fully aware it is the same beat the entire song. But goddamn, it's goos enough for me to keep trying.
Story:
No story. But you get some funny tutorials and funny result screens. My favorite is "Todays catch...will be from the drive-thru!"
Graphics:
Who doesn't love the visuals of Rhythm Heaven? So many monkeys.
Sound:
The reason why people play these games, the music is so bomb. I would say that half of these games have absolute banger songs, then a fourth of the games have good songs and then the last fourth has alright songs. Except for Love Rap.
Extra:
100% Perfecting Tengoku was already the heftiest challenge I have faced. And with some of these mini-games and remixes, I don't know if I'll ever be able to do it. But goddamn will I try.
