3/5 ★ – Krypt2k's review of The Walking Dead: Michonne.
As a kid who enjoyed watching multiple playthrough's of The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series, I always found it pointless to play it myself as I knew the entire story back to front. Well I got lucky and discovered that there was a Michonne spin off and as a fan of the show, I quickly got excited.
There are 3 episodes and it took me roughly 4 hours to complete every one, so it's short. But yes it's labeled as a 'mini series' so it's what I expected. The story takes an in-depth look at Michonne's character than what we see in the show. She is trying to cope over the loss of her children and struggling more and more. There are scenes which explain more about why she is containing all this guilt and it's a side of Michonne we haven't seen.
Apart from Michonne, none of the other characters were that interesting, and because it was short, we didn't really have enough time to connect with anyone unlike the main Walking Dead game, where every character was likable and easily to get attached too.
Same sort of formula, you're part of a group, you bump into another group, there's conflict, people die. Nothing that really stands out. It's decent
