2/5 ★ – Lancey's review of SaGa Emerald Beyond.

The new Saga game is unfortunately a disappointment. The enemies were largely taken from the game Scarlet Grace and so far they offer even less variety. However, after 3 playthroughs out of a total of 5 with different characters, I also noticed that there are no special bosses anymore, and when you face one of the stronger opponents, unfortunately it is only one that has already been seen several times. It repeats itself Everything happens too often and you notice more and more that Square Enix is simply putting too little budget into what is actually a great series. It's a big step back from what has always made the series so great. Endgame? Nothing to see so far and according to the trophies there are no more special enemies coming. The two trophies for the strongest enemies in the game are for the 2 final boss phases, which unfortunately turned out to be very **** combat system is fun, but even in the older Saga games I enjoyed it a lot more, and the innovations aren't enough. I doubt that some of the reviewers have even played through the **** hope of a turn-based masterpiece from Square Enix is now dying even more, especially if they no longer value polishing such turn-based games to a high shine. Next will probably be a saga game with action combat, so that today's generation is satisfied and happy with mediocre game mechanics that don't even require them to use a brain cell.
