3.5/5 ★ – LegoYodaonaCookie's review of DOOM: The Dark Ages.

My least favorite of the doom reboots. It had some good like the shield and how it was used for combat, but the combat still had problems. The guns don’t feel as valuable as they do in eternal and making ammo so abundant made it probably possible to beat the whole game with just a shotgun and shield. At least the weapons looked cool. The aesthetic was also extremely good with all the enemy designs being changed to fit the vibe, I especially liked the Pinkies in this game. I think one of my bigger problems with the game is that it somehow feels like it’s dragging too long in many times, and that’s really bad because this game is only around 10 hours. The dragon and mech segments both suck ass which is dissapointing because they both look cool. Closer to the end the game just felt like it was getting too long and the missions were becoming repetitive. The last mission might have been one of my least favorites just because it felt so unnecessary. The story was also really bad and I did not care about it at all and that might’ve been part of the problem. My final conclusion is that they should bring Samuel Haden yapping with his sexy voice instead of cutscenes explaining why the fat guy in the walle chair decided to work with Demons.
