4/5 ★ – Lingo56's review of Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker.

This one I felt had *way* too much going on for its own good. For every incredible character moment there was an equally confusing and underwritten one somewhere else. The biggest loser here is Hydaelyn, who presumably won’t be mentioned anymore despite her arc ending super problematically imo. The ending in general is also a huge mixed bag of great moments and annoyingly underwritten ones. It honestly felt like a lot like Bioshock Infinite. Luckily the core cast are so strongly written that it still lands on its feet by the end. That being said, even if it’s messy at least it’s ambitious and feels worthy of standing in as a large concluding arc for the game. My favourite thing to do in this expansion is just chill in Old Sharlayan and have those guitar strings pluck in the background :)
