4/5 ★ – Logz_91's review of Metroid Fusion.

As a recently blossomed Metroid fanboy this was a great little game to play on Switch while on the go. Final run time was 3.5 hours but it probably pushed closer to 4 due to deaths or (sometimes heavily) using the instant rewind feature built in to the GBA Emulator. This outing packed a lot more story than other Metroid games and gave Samus an inner dialogue. This was cool to see as it was the direct prequel to the amazing Metroid Dread that I played last year. I really enjoyed the more linear nature of this installment as it shortened the runtime and made for a fast paced experience that didn't out stay its welcome. It has all the hallmarks still of upgrading your suit, hidden walls and area for the smaller upgrades, and caps everything off with the 3 minute run out of the space station while it explodes. I only completed one play through without 100% completion but find it pretty ridiculous that the ending screens show Samus wearing less and less of her armor the more upgrades you collect and the faster you finish the game. Rolling credits for this game while sitting on a bus ride for a field trip for work really made me feel like a kid again.
