3.5/5 ★ – LuminousDagger's review of Mass Effect - Legendary Edition.

Played On: PS5 Time Played: 10 Hours Review: I rushed through the game. I originally played it on Xbox 360 and loved it then. I bought the legendary edition when it came out and got half way through the game before my PS5 broke and I lost all the data. This stopped me from touching the game till last year where I restarted and made it half way through before stopping again. I finally decided that 2024 was the year that I wanted to finish the trilogy as I have never played ME2 or ME3. I rushed through the game just so I could quickly get to those games. Though I rushed, I still encountered bugs like falling through the map which caused me to load previous saves. Mass Effect 1 is perfect when it comes to its storytelling. It sets up the story nicely and keeps the mystery intriguing till its final moments. The characters all feel real and are characters you want to get to know more of. There’s a lot to gather from Mass Effect’s world and characters and this game does its best to give you a lot of that information. Unfortunately the combat is quite boring and the driving isn’t the best and can be a hindrance. I’m hoping the combat improves in ME2 and ME3 but I can understand that not being the franchise’s strongest factor compared to its intense story and world building.
