4.5/5 ★ – M_Riolu's review of Class of '09: The Flip Side.

Class of 09 and Class of 09: The Re-Up are probably two of the funniest games I’ve ever played. The Flip Side is no exception, however, the humor does feel a little forced at times. It was still an experience I enjoyed playing through with my friends like I did the other 2, however, we all agreed that The Flip Side definitely falls short compared to the other 2. Gameplay: The endings are probably one of the most important things in Class of 09. In The Flip Side, there are a total of 5 different endings, which is the lowest amount yet. The first game had 15 endings and The Re-Up had 7 endings. While The Re-Up had less than the first game, the endings at least lasted longer than the ones in the original. However, the endings in The Flip Side definitely feel shorter than the ones in The Re-Up. Not only that, but they aren’t as good as the endings in the other 2 games. With the game only having 5 endings, that means there also aren’t many options given to the player that affect the endings. I don’t really mind this, however, since it stems from the fact that there aren’t many endings to begin with, it sorta sucks. Humor: Class of 09: The Flip Side, despite its flaws, is still really funny. However, the game definitely forces its humor at times and sometimes falls flat. In both the first and second games, there are a lot of jokes regarding fetishes and such. While it is really cringe, they both still manage to keep it funny and entertaining. The Flip Side still keeps the fetish jokes, but they are dug into the ground and are just really cringe. Especially since the fetish jokes primarily take up 2 endings of the games. Despite all of this, the game is still funny like the other two, even if it isn’t as consistent. Closing Statements: Even with all of its flaws, Class of 09 The Flip Side is still an enjoyable experience, especially with friends. While it is my least favorite of the three, I did still enjoy my time with it. My biggest problem with it is the price. Its price, when not on sale, is $15, the same price as The Re-Up. If The Flips Side was in the same quality range as The Re-Up, it would’ve been fine, but that’s sadly not the case. I think the main reason the game ended up being the way it was, was because of its spike in popularity. The people behind the game forced what people liked the most about the game, which was to their downfall. I think it’s comparable to how Thor: Love and Thunder tried to force its humor after the success of Ragnarok, which just made it sorta unfunny at times. It is sad that this seems to be the last game in the series as I would like to see more. However, I’m confident that there will be fans who make their own versions of Class of 09, so I look forward to that. Playtime: 5.6 Hours Riolu Rating: 9/10 Should You Play It? If you like Class of 09, I suggest getting the game while it’s on sale as it’s still enjoyable, especially with friends.
