2.5/5 ★ – Matt_TooFast4U's review of BIONICLE Heroes.

The absolute black sheep of the TT Lego games for a reason. After the success of Lego Star Wars, a sequel was inevitable. However, first TT games sought to dip their toes in another Lego property; the much loved Bionicle franchise. Being only the second Lego game by TT, they opted to go for an over-shoulder third-person shooter....and there's a reason they never tried this again. Bionicle Heroes is incredibly samey. Levels are long, slow and repetitive, and the shoulder cam doesn't lend itself well to seeing what's shooting you. Enemy variety is almost nonexistent, and bosses are fairly dull. You play as some nameless, formless Bionicle able to use the masks of the 6 then-current Toa; while you're technically switching between the powers of 6 characters, they're essentially just different guns; the fire one is basically a machine gun, rock dude has a rocket launcher, air guy has a shotgun...etc. If you die, you drop the mask/weapon you have equipped, then revive on the spot with one of the masks you have left. This, combined with the sections that grant you indefinite invincibility until you move onto the next, remove any challenge it may have had. While there's not much to the gameplay at all, and only 6 Toa is a bit of a disappointment after the huge cast of Lego Star Wars, there's still a lot of cool stuff for Bionicle fans; be it the huge collection of masks, collectibles and their respective lore, or the cameos of older villains like the Rahkshi as bosses, this game isn't half bad for it. Well, actually, it IS half bad. But that's still half good, right?
