3.5/5 ★ – McP's review of Battlefield 3.
There was something about the blue-orange aesthetic of this game that really suckered me in, along with the very clean UI it had - but after popping the game back on my computer very recently I realized quickly that everyone was too damn clean.
It's like someone turned up the contrast and left the lights on too long. Beyond that, this game had a phenomenal sound design that left me always excited to play again. Story-wise, it's a generic 'you've got the wrong man!' tale of betrayal, action, and political intrigue as the United States and Russia are in a game of tug-of-war and are being conned by a rogue operative with access to dirty bombs. It's not entirely strong, but the gameplay picks up the slack.
It's still a fun game to throw on to beat in a day, but I probably wouldn't consider it a favorite.
